GRADUATE STATISTICS UP TO NOVEMBER 2003
1688 students have graduated from Chrysalis Academy in thirty-eight months.
64% of graduates contacted have found employment.
Graduates are now employed by more than 60 businesses and organisations in the Western Cape.
40% of the targeted graduates returned for the first retraining week held in November 2001 and again in 2002.
50% of the targeted graduates returned for their retraining week held in Atlantis in April, 2002 and 37% of the Southern Cape region in September 2002.
115 graduates have been selected for military reserve training.
115 Grade E & D security guards have been trained and 63 Grade C.
3380 Level I sports coaching certificates in 7 codes have been awarded to students.
111 students achieved SPA and QC life saving certificates.
32 have joined their local neighbourhood watches.
20 graduates have returned to school or undertaken other educational opportunities.
208 graduates are involved in youth work in their communities.
120 graduates have been awarded Level 3 First-Aid certificates.
74 are actively coaching sport.
14 graduates work for the SSS school sports facilitation programme in Khayelitsha, Mitchell's Plain and Manenberg.
19 have become police reservists.
8 have joined the SAPS as permanent members and 7 the Municipal Police.
5 have joined the SA Navy.
23 drivers and 44 learners licences have been obtained as a result of the Academy's driver training programme.
149 students have completed the catering course.
