COURSE MANAGEMENT
Each course has a dedicated course leader, supported by a deputy course leader. Both these positions are filled by senior staff members who are known as 'group leaders'. They are supported by 'junior group leaders' and 'candidate group leaders' who are graduates of former courses who demonstrated the best leadership qualities and who have undergone further intensive training. Ideally, there will be one JL per 12 students.
DISCIPLINE
A code of conduct applies for all students and staff alike. There is no smoking or drinking of alcohol, as this is in direct conflict with the aims and objectives of the programme.
Parades, drilling, and team work are a feature of the entire course and all students will participate in these activities.
ACCOMMODATION
Students are accommodated in dormitories in groups of 8 to 12 - depending on course size. The daily routine includes housekeeping of the dormitories and communal areas and inspections are the norm.
CLOTHING
Students are provided with a complete set of clothing and equipment required for their twelve-week programme, free of charge.
When they graduate, they return the items of clothing that are not personal, for re-issue. Selected items of clothing are kept to enable the graduate to make him/herself available for work and recreation upon returning home.
MEDICAL ATTENTION
A full-time nurse is employed to ensure that the medical requirements of the students are met. The appropriate professional attention will be made available in the event of emergencies or serious illness.
RELIGIOUS WORSHIP
Spiritual development is one of the corner-stones of the project and students are encouraged to carry out their devotions as part of the programme.
Where possible, religious services of various faiths are offered or arranged for students on campus.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
Much of the course content is provided by professional service providers who are accredited in their field of expertise.
ENROLMENT FORM
Acceptance of this application is totally at management discretion and no correspondence will be entered into regarding an unsuccessful application. An unsuccessful application does not preclude a candidate from re-applying at a later stage.
Enrolment to the Chrysalis Academy is voluntary and the student is free to leave whenever he wishes. The Chrysalis Academy does reserve the right to claim costs for fruitless expenditure.
