“Don’t wait for your ship sail in, swim out and meet it.”
Faith is a young woman who has always determined to achieve greatness and success in life.
I grew up in Kuilsriver, Cape Town with both my and I am the youngest of two children. I completed my schooling in the year 2000 and could not go to further my education, due to a lack of funds. I then decided to go work to save up money for my studies. In 2001 I got employment at Dunn’s Clothing shop as a sales assistant where I worked for about 7 months. I then used some of my savings and went on a computer course.
While I was busy with the computer course my friend informed me about Chrysalis Academy and the great opportunities they had to offer. After I did research on the organization I decided that it was a great opportunity to empower myself. I was accepted to come on the first only girls course in 2002 and I learned more than what I expected.
After the course I was selected 1 of 12 Candidate Junior Leaders, after tough training only 3 of us were employed at the Academy. I worked as a facilitator from January 2003 to December 2004.
During 2004 to 2005 I decided to travel with a youth group called Latreuo to Kwa-Zulu Natal, Mosambique, Germany and the Western Cape, where we ran projects in schools, focusing on HIV/AIDS and Performing arts. In 2006 I came back to the Academy to work as a facilitator till December 2007.
In January 2008 I started my training at the SAPS (South African Police Services). I completed my probation period at Kuilsriver Police Station and I am currently permanently employed at the Cape Town International Airport.
